Select images

JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, TIFF, or GIF. Up to 10MB per image. Max 5 images.

Photos often contain EXIF metadata: camera model, capture time, and sometimes GPS coordinates. Remove metadata before publishing publicly or sharing client deliverables.

How to Remove Image Metadata Online

    1. Upload

Upload images that may contain EXIF or GPS metadata.

    2. Adjust

Keep 'Strip metadata' enabled (default). Auto-orient corrects rotation using EXIF before removal.

    3. Download

Download clean images in the same format.

    Why remove image metadata

    • Publish blog photos without GPS location tags
    • Share client work without camera serial numbers
    • Reduce file size by dropping unused EXIF blocks
    • Prepare images for privacy-sensitive news or real estate content

    Metadata removal notes

Stripping metadata removes hidden EXIF and GPS tags but raster files are re-encoded during export. For maximum size reduction, combine metadata removal with light compression on the compress image tool.

    Your data security and privacy

ConvertPort is designed with privacy first. When you upload images for conversion, your files are handled securely and are never stored permanently on our servers.

    How we protect your uploads

    • All transfers use HTTPS/TLS encryption, so your images are encrypted in transit between your browser and our servers.
    • Files are uploaded directly to private cloud storage via time-limited presigned URLs that expire after 15 minutes — no public links are ever created.
    • Uploaded files and converted results are automatically deleted within 48 hours. Download links expire after 24 hours.
    • Only validated image formats (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, TIFF, GIF, and SVG) are accepted. File type is verified by MIME type and content inspection, not just the file extension.
    • Rate limiting prevents abuse. Security headers including Content Security Policy (CSP) protect against common web attacks.
    • We do not sell, share, or use your images for training or any purpose other than completing your conversion request.

    Data retention policy

Uploaded source images and converted output files are automatically removed from our systems within 48 hours of upload. Job metadata is purged on the same schedule via database TTL. We do not maintain an archive of your files.
